Important Patient Information - 11th July 2018.

This notice is for information only, you do not need to take any action.

You may be aware of the strains and challenges that the NHS is facing which includes a national shortage of GPs impacting Primary Care.

As part of NHS England’s GP Forward View, the NHS is encouraging practices to begin to work more collaboratively to offer opportunities in tackling the frustrations that so many patients feel when trying to access care in general practice.

In view of these challenges, the Practice has decided to pursue an opportunity to join forces with a neighbouring GP practice - The Parks Medical Practice

This joining of practices is planned to begin in October 2018, and will result in creating a larger practice with exciting opportunities to share best practice and skilled workforces, including the recruitment of locally trained GPs.

One of the benefits of this merger for our registered patients will be the ability to share a wide range of skills and services.

You do not need to take any action and may continue to access GP services in the usual way.

This announcement is the beginning of a period of patient consultation that will take place during July. Please look out for further information in the surgery.

In the meantime, please see the attached list of frequently asked questions which will hopefully help answer any questions you may have. If you would like to make a comment regarding this proposal please either download the comments form here or pick up one in the practice, and once completed, return to reception.

All comments will be reviewed and considered as part of this consultation process.

We are all committed to providing safe, effective, high quality care for patients.

We see this as an exciting opportunity for Highcliffe Medical Practice and hope that you do too.
